Trilogy

I'm trying to find the words to express how much I loved both Big Stone Gap and Big Cherry Holler, the first two novels in the Big Stone Gap trilogy by Adriana Trigiani. I finished Big Stone Gap Monday night and practically ran to the library Tuesday afternoon to check out Big Cherry Holler, which I finished last night. Big Stone Gap was funny and endearing, with a happy ending. But Big Cherry Holler really touched me. It was more serious, with very real situations and dialogue. Some of the topics hit very close to home and on so many levels I identify with Ave Maria. I cried in the middle and I cried at the end. Unlike most books I read, I wasn't really sure how it was going to end.

I'm anxious to read Milk Glass Moon, the final book in the series, but I'm also hesitant, because I don't want to lose these characters. That is why I read so many series - fiction, mystery or otherwise. I crave the character development you can't always get from just one novel and I love to follow the characters' lives through the years.
